Southern Vehicle Products began in 1974 as a small manufacturing and distribution center in Clearwater, Florida. The company's emphasis on high quality products and personalized service allowed it to grow quickly to a leadership position in the Emergency Vehicle Products industry. In 1998, Southern Vehicle Products changed its name to Signal Vehicle Products in order to communicate the company's commitment to an international presence and its focus on an expanded 'signaling' product line. Signal Vehicle's assets were recently purchased by Star Headlight & Lantern Co., Inc. of Avon, New York which is in its 111th year.
